Tank Farm Heavy Crude Storage Project

A large Midwest logistics company requested engineering support to develop a high-level TIC to increase storage capacity of Black Wax.  The client had one Black Wax storage tank located in the refinery tank farm (RTF). The scope was to develop cost to construct 3 new 120,000 BBL tanks and associated equipment, piping, and electrical to increase storage capacity of Black Wax in a remote tank farm located across an interstate highway approximately 4000 ft away. This allowed the client to take advantage of blending opportunities.

Deliverables for this project included:

  • P&IDs
  • General Plot Plan Showing Tank Layout in RTF
  • General Pipe Routing from Original Tank to RTF
  • Mechanical Data Sheets
  • Heat Loss Calculations
  • Electrical Loads and Single Lines
  • Instrument Data Sheets
  • TIC Estimate

The Jōb key employee engineering team included:

  • Project Manager
  • Process Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Electrical & Instrumentation
